December Club Project

I meant to post this three weeks ago, but life got so busy finishing up at school for the holidays then trying to finish everything that had to be done at home before Christmas that I forgot. A gentle email reminder from one of my club members this morning prompted this post. This was one of the club projects from this month.
We used the Big Shot for almost every element in the project - the Scallop Square Die, Petals A Plenty Embossing Folder (only available through Jan 4th), Serif Essentials Alphabet, and of course the Big Shot. We also used Christmas Punch (a hostess set) and Boho Blossoms Punch which coordinate perfectly.
We always do two projects or cards at club - no cost for the projects - just the $25 order committment. If you are interested in joining one of my clubs, please contact me for more information.

Decor Element Shirts

I made my nephew and niece each a shirt using decor elements and bleach water. They looked so cute when they modeled them for me - we do gifts at my Mom's on Chrismtas Eve. I hope you enjoy them.
By the way - this amazing ideas and instructions were posted on the Stampin' Up! demonstrator website a few weeks ago. This amazing resource is just one of the many benefits of being a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator. Contact me if you are interested in hearing more of the benefits.

Snow Day Project

I had been collecting fabric and waiting for time to try this adorable purse project I saw on Angie Juda's blog. Well, with two snow days this week, I finally found the time.

I made the three purses below on Thursday to give to the girls my husband works with.

I decided to make a simple set of coordinating cards to go with each purse when I got the call for a second snow day on Friday. Each card set uses whisper white cardstock, designer series paper (some retired, but it coordinated), grosgrain ribbon, and brand new clear mount stamps from the Occasions Mini and the Sale-a-Bration catalogs - these will be available to customers starting January 5th.

December Girls Night Out

Add a touch of elegance to any occasion with this gorgeous set of black and white cards created using the Bride & Groom Specialty Paper & Stampin’ Up!’s Pretties Kit. In this class you’ll create 8 cards in all – four black cards & four white cards – as well as a unique box to hold them.

Please mark your calendar for Friday, January 1st at 6:00 - the last Friday in December is Christmas so I had to move it to New Year's Day.

The $20 class fee includes all precut supplies for eight beautiful cards with envelopes and box along with a light dinner. To keep class cost low, I am not including the stamp set in the class cost this month. If you'd like to order the featured stamp set Together Forever at 20% off, tell me when you register. Please register by 12/26 to allow fime for cutting materials.

Please bring your own adhesive and scissors.

Stampin' Up! Clear Mount Stamps!!

I'm ecstatic! Over the past few years, there has been enormous demand from demonstrators and customers alike for a line of repositionable clear-mount stamps. Well, you asked for it, and now you have it! Starting with stamps in the 2010 Occasions Mini Catalog and the 2010 Sale-A-Bration Brochure, Stampin′ Up! now offers our exclusive stamp art in both traditional wood-mount, and the new clear-mount option. The customer sales period begins Jan. 5.

Our new clear-mount stamps are the result of extensive research with the intent to maintain the very best image quality in the stamping industry, while at the same time offering the ease-of-use and storability inherent in repositionable clear-mount stamps.

Clear-Mount Features

  • Nine different sizes of clear blocks available individually or as a discounted bundle.
  • Blocks have ergonomic grooves on all four sides for easy grip and traditional wood-mount feel.
  • Stamps and blocks are durable and easy to clean with your Stampin’ Scrub and Stampin' Mist.
  • Optional image labels on stamp backs let you decide if you want to see the image through the block or not.
  • Tight die-cutting for easy image positioning.
  • Large clear blocks can be used to create collages or spell words with alphabet sets.
  • Stamps store easily in standard, DVD-type cases with artwork on front and spine, making organization easy.
As many of you know, I've switched all of my stamps to this type of mount over the past few years to save space. I'm so excited to see that I won't have to go through the extra steps anymore. Better yet, I'll be able to save 20-30% on each stamp set I purchase this way!

I'm Back!

Sorry I haven't posted in a while. I made it through parent-teacher conferences (meeting with 50 sets of parents in three days takes a lot out of you) and rested up over the weekend. I also started our Christmas cards (I hope to finish them this week and add family photos after they are taken on Sunday).

Our card uses Bride Specialty Paper (smudged with Soft Suede & Old Olive Classic Inks and Sponge Daubers), Dasher, and Christmas Greetings. I roughly designed the card and then completed the inside greeting using My Digital Studio. Rich actually likes this year's Christmas card because "it isn't so girly".

I was able to look at the new Occasions Mini and Sale-A-Bration Mini this weekend. Although I can't share yet, let me tell you they are both VERY exciting. One of the best parts of being a Stampin' Up! demonstrator is being able to view and purchase new products before they are available to the public. If you've ever considered becoming a Stampin' Up! demonstrator, this is the time. We have a special starter kit that includes My Digital Sudio, stamps, cardstock, embellishments, business supplies, and more. Click on the My Digital Studio Starter Kit button near the bottom the sidebar for more information on this amazing opportunity.

You don't want to miss your opportunity to earn extra FREE stuff by hosting your own workshop or class. Please contact me to book your date for January, February, or March to take advantage of the extra Sale-A-Bration hostess benefits.

Preparing for Christmas Gift Class on 10/10 @ 10:00

Because these decorative tiles had to go in the oven for 10 minutes each and cool completely before adding stencil paste which had to dry for at least two hours, I did the first two steps in these beautiful projects.

I will explain the embossing process and then demonstrate the stencil paste process at the class. The ladies will then complete the decorative touches for a beautiful and inexpensive Christmas gift. I can't wait until they see the finished project!!!

We will be making this decorative tile along with five other projects for the class fee of $20. This class is limited to the first 22 participants who register. Please contact me if you would like to attend.

I am doing a broadcast call tomorrow to remind all of my customers about my upcoming events. Augusts Girls Night Out is one of those events. I'm posting this photo at the top of my blog so it's easy to find.

I know I haven't posted much since returning from Convention. With my husband away on a bear hunt in Canada, I've taken advantage of the free time to work on organizing my craft room, setting up my classroom (the beginning of the school year is coming up so quick), and preparing for upcoming events. I will try to post more great swaps from Convention and upcoming event projects in the next few days.

Join Stampin' Up! for only $85 in August!

What a super low-cost way to add income to your houshold for:
* paying a bill
* purchasing Christmas gifts
* saving for a vacation
What would you do with an extra $100 or more per month?

Last Day of Convention

My swap post today is a very simple, yet elegant wedding card. I love the use of designer paper to create this amazing look.

This is my friend Missy's Gladheart Stampers group. It was very fun having lunch with this group of demonstrators.

Here is what Missy called her group of adopted Gladhearts. I was proud to be included.

We enjoyed manicotti at Olive Garden for dinner. It was absolutely delicious! What a nice relaxed last dinner.

Another Great Day at Convention

Here we are with just a little of our loot from Momento Mall - our new Rich Razzleberry shirts and our exclusive Suzie Stamper Build-a-Bears wearing Stampin' Up! aprons and holding stamps that only come with the bear. We also picked up many other items, but thought it might be dangerous to post a pile of the loot (we don't want husbands to see how much we bought).

Isn't this just the cutest card. I love Trendy Trees anyway, but what a great layout. This is one of the swaps I received yesterday. I can't wait to share the rest of the awesome swaps I've received when I get home.
Shelli Gardner (the co-founder of the company) demonstrated many gift ideas on stage yesterday. I most enjoyed the Simply Adorned Charm part of her presentation. She showed the 1" x 1 1/2" charm insert she designed and then sent the Prize Patrol out to give the lucky winners a handstamped and signed insert, charm, and ribbon to hang it on. None of our group won, but it was amazing to see.

This is a shot of the amazing entertainment at Awards Night. Tonic Solfa has the most amazing sound without using any instruments and a variety of song styles. We enjoyed the music so much that Missy, Kirsten, and I got up and danced. We were even pulled into a conga line by Sterling Gardner.

Dinner last night was fantastic. We at at P. F. Changs. We each ordered an appetizer and an entree then shared. It was wonderful tasting all of the delicious foods - chicken lettuce wraps, crispy green beans, spicy green beans, honey chicken, beef with broccili, and pepper steak - yum, yum, yum!!!

First Day of Presentations

I've been taking photos of adorable swaps and wanted to post a couple for you to enjoy. This is the cutest idea. I think I will make some of these to put in the lodge at the campgrounds we stay at with my contact information. Maybe I could gain some traveling customers.
Here's another cute card that may were well with my campgrounds. Unfortunately, the talented lady who did this didn't have any left for me to bring home.
Here is a picture of me with the mascot from Build-a-Bear Workshop. At first I wasn't too excited about this partnership (I have an almost 21 year old son), but after seeing the presentation in general session yesterday I can't wait to order.
They demonstrated this adorable project on stage yesterday. It is a little decorated bag (they used canvas, but I'll use paper because of cost) with a ring of stamped images and a box of crayons. I thought this would be the best birthday gift for each of my students. I will stock up on crayons now while they are cheap. You can be sure I will stamp my business information on the back of the coloring image ring and the bottom of the bag so I may gain some new customers.
Now for the gratutitous food photo. We loved Jason's Deli so much that we went back. Sandy and I had the salad bar and this is what I came back with. It was absolutely delicious and I almost finished the whole thing with my french onion soup.
As promised - photos of our amazing room. This is the sitting area (the couch is a hide-a-bed so we each have our own bed).
Here is the sleeping area. There is also a kitchenette. It has been the best room!!!
