Health Scare Over

I'm sorry I haven't posted in a while, but life has been a little crazy for me over the last month. My annual mammogram found a mass in my right breast - a great argument for regular mammograms. The last few weeks have been filled with doctor's appointments, an attempted needle biopsy, and finally surgery. It really looked like cancer and that was the impression I was given by the surgeon.

Well, yesterday I got the call saying it was benign - yahoo!!! Although I am very sore, I am extremely relieved!

Now that my mind won't be filled with health worries, I will be able to spend some creative time in my craft room. It may be a few days before I can really use my right arm for projects, but I will start posting again as soon as I'm up to it.

Simply Adorned Is Here!!!

The Stampin' Up! Simply Adorned line beautifully combines the best of two worlds: stamping and jewelry! Simply Adorned charms are designed to hold a creation you design yourself, making your jewelry truly unique.
Simply Adorned charms are lockets--they open up so you can insert your custom stamped image. The Charming stamp set, along with Rub-Ons, glitter, ribbons, and other embellishments, can help you create your unique charm insert. And don't forget that you can embellish the chains with ribbon, felt flowers . . . the possibilities are endless! The frame surrounds tempered beveled glass on the front and flat glass on the back. Because there's glass on both sides of the charm, you can display an image on one side or both. You can create a custom heirloom piece that you'll never want to change, or you can swap artwork in and out, depending on your mood and your wardrobe.
And although Stampin' Up! designed Simply Adorned charms to be jewelry, they also make delightful key chains or Christmas tree ornaments. Insert a stamped image or photo of your loved ones, tie a ribbon through the clasp, and you're done!
It's easy to create custom jewelry. When you wear your own Simply Adorned necklace or charm bracelet with artwork you created yourself, be prepared for questions about where you got it!

Girls Night Out for Our Last Night

We decided to skip dinner and go to the movies for our last night. We saw "It's Complicated" -and laughed so hard we almost wet our pants. On the walk back to the hotel, we stopped at Coldstone Creamery for ice cream. I ordered the German Chocolate - WOW chocolate ice cream with toasted coconut, pecans, caramel, and brownie mixed together.

Regionals

I'm posting my favorite card swap from today. Unfortunately, the person who made it didn't put their information on the back for me to give credit.

Here is our group as we finished up at Regionals today. It is wonderful to make new friends at Stampin' Up events. Our lunch today wasn't as fancy as the lunches we've had all week. We had a turkey & cheese sandwich with chips, cookie, apple, and water. Here we were all hugging before bed last night. We had such a great time rooming together for this trip.

Leadership - Day 2

Here are a few of my favorite swaps from the past couple of days. I plan to post more over the next few days.

The lunch today was absolutely incredible. We started with this amazing olive salad - I thought the salad was the entire meal.
Imagine my surprise when they brought this amazing entree - cherry chicken, mashed red potatoes, grilled vegetables, and asparagus.
We finished off with this amazing strawberry shortcake.
We went to Sam's Cafe for dinner on the way back to the hotel. I had the chicken fajitas - they were incredible!!!

Leadership - Day 1

I'm learning so much at Leadership - I can't wait to share with all of my stamping friends when I get back!

We had the most beautiful lunch at Leadership today - a fun chicken salad and a wonderful chocolate/fruit desert. Even the table was elegant!!!

We walked to a Greek place for dinner. Although I was fighting a migraine, I really enjoyed my beef kabob with rice, potatoes, and vegetables. I wasn't even able to finish half.

I will try to take pictures of my favorite swaps and cool ideas tomorrow to post. I have to go to bed now and see if I can get rid of the headache.

Flight Troubles

Well, I got out of Grand Rapids just fine, but my flight from Denver to Phoenix was delayed by several hours. I think I ended up spending a total of about 8 hours in airports yesterday when all was said and done. I finally got to the hotel about 1:00 in the morning - totally exhausted!

The two bright spots in all of it (besides finally getting to lay my head on a soft pillow in our wonderful room):
1 - I was able to do a lot of reading on my brand new Kindle.
2 - I had tons of leg room on the last leg of my flight after all that time in the airport.
